Secure your Premium Registration early before it sells out.
Premium Registration gives you exclusive access to more than 400 additional hands-on workshops and full-day, in-depth academies. You’ll gain access to specialized, interactive sessions that will enhance your learning experience at the conference. Premium Registrations are limited in number and sell out early each year.

The Premium upgrade gives you the best value for your professional development dollars. More in-depth presentations that are delivered in smaller, more collaborative environments will help you better understand the content being presented and help you connect with both presenters and other attendees. Only Premium Registration attendees can attend BYOD and PC hands-on workshops and full-day academies.

 

New for 2017 – Pre-registration is not required for Premium workshops and academies.
To provide the best experience for all attendees, you no longer are required to pre-register for workshops and academies. It is your responsibility to arrive early enough to secure a seat in any presentations, workshops, and academies you wish to attend.

 

If you intend to participate in one of TCEA 2017’s academies, you must check in onsite at the location and time stated in the online academy program. Please consult the TCEA 2017 digital app to confirm details. You must check in at the beginning of the academy in order to participate in the full day of presentations.

 


TCEA 2017 Academies

Academies are a full-day commitment with a series of presentations dedicated to improving teaching and learning within the unique topic. Each academy has a specific focus and will offer several breakout sessions to choose from.

Academies are included only with the Premium Registration upgrade.

Google Academy

Monday, Feb. 6
This academy focuses on effectively using Google tools in education. Attendees will experience the many possibilities for integrating Google Apps, Google Tools, and Add-Ons into everyday teaching moments. Whether you’re getting started using Google applications, taking Google Apps district-wide, or are ready to take your skills to the next level, there will be something for every educator.

STEAM Academy

Monday, Feb. 6
Discover successful ways to engage students with science, technology, engineering, art, and math in this interactive academy. Explore new techniques, great resources, and hands-on activities that will transform the way your students learn. And learn how robotics can be successfully integrated into the STEAM curriculum.

Increase proficiency for ESL/ELL students through effective technology integration. This full-day academy shares, through a series of presentations dedicated to this niche topic, how implementing technology into the curriculum can engage students and improve learning outcomes.

1-Day Microsoft Innovative Educator (MIE) Teacher Academy

Monday, Feb. 6
This academy is designed for the K-12 classroom educator who wants to learn more about Microsoft’s best tools and resources for classroom learning. Effectively use the latest version of Windows, including basic navigation and Windows Apps. Discover Office Mix, Sway, and OneNote, including how digital notebooks can be created and used as a productivity tool for educators and students.

 

2-Day Microsoft Innovative Educator (MIE) Trainer Academy

Monday, Feb. 6 and Tuesday, Feb. 7
Teacher trainers and those who are responsible for training educators on the integration of technology into the classroom will gain exposure to the many Microsoft Technologies and resources to support student-centered learning based on authentic problems and projects.

 

1-Day Microsoft Innovative Educator (MIE) Teacher Academy: Minecraft: Education Edition

Tuesday, Feb. 7
Education Edition is an open world game that promotes creativity, collaboration, and problem solving in an immersive environment where the only limit is your imagination. You will receive an overview of Minecraft: Education Edition, learn to play the game, and create curriculum and classroom resources you can take back to your classroom and continue your journey. Ensure you bring a Windows 10 device or Mac OSX for this BYOD hands on workshop.

 

iPad Academy

Tuesday, Feb. 7
Learn about the best integration tools and resources from experts, Apple representatives, and innovative educators. Presenters will share curriculum and management ideas, showcasing how they achieve engagement with iOS devices. This academy will include sessions for campus-wide implementation as well as small, class-set implementation. Go beyond apps for limitless learning.

Leadership Academy

Tuesday, Feb. 7
This academy is specifically designed for campus and district leaders and will provide the tools and knowledge needed for effective leadership in the digital age. Guest speakers and presenters will discuss current technology issues and trends and provide innovative ideas and opportunities for success.

The ELA/SS Academy will showcase innovative educators who will share their knowledge and experience to help you transform your digital game plan. Whether you have your students use social media, Web 2.0 tools, Problem-Based Learning, or digital media, there are endless options and opportunities. You will learn how to reinvent your ELA/SS lessons to support collaborative, standards-based learning, and we will help you recruit a variety of resources for your digital toolkit.
