Shabnam Mogharabi
Opening Keynote
Shabnam Mogharabi is CEO and Executive Producer at SoulPancake, an award-winning media and entertainment company founded by actor Rainn Wilson that explores “Life’s Big Questions.” SoulPancake spreads joy and celebrates the human experience by producing and curating uplifting, thought-provoking content that is distributed on television, online, at live events, and through branded engagements. 

Shabnam is one of the co-authors of the New York Times bestselling book SoulPancake: Chew on Life’s Big Questions. Prior to joining SoulPancake in 2009, Shabnam was an award-winning journalist and magazine editor, covering entertainment, finance, real estate, and home design. A California native, Shabnam holds a master’s in publishing from Northwestern University and a bachelor’s from USC, where she double-majored in business administration and journalism, with a minor in comparative religion.

Nadia Lopez
Closing Keynote
Nadia Lopez shot to national recognition when the popular blog Humans of New York profiled one of her students, Vidal Chastanet, who named Nadia the most influential person in his life. After the blog post went viral and was shared 145,000 times, Nadia was featured in The New York Times, The Atlantic, NBC News, and other outlets. In less than three weeks, Nadia and HONY raised $1.4 million to endow a scholarship fund for graduates of Mott Hall Bridges.

Nadia Lopez is the founder and principal of Mott Hall Bridges Academy in Brownsville, Brooklyn, and is a finalist for the 2016 Global Teachers Prize. 100% of her students live below the poverty line, but last year 72 of the 75 graduates were able to enroll in high schools beyond the Brownsville community. The school maintains a 98% graduation rate among its first three graduating classes.

An inspiration to students and teachers alike, Nadia was honored last year with the Black Girls Rock Change Agent Award televised on Black Entertainment Television (BET) and became a TED Fellow.

Adam Bellow

Adam Bellow is a dedicated educational technologist, father of two young boys, and Co-Founder of Breakout EDU, the immersive gaming platform that enables teachers and students to transform classrooms into places of discovery and inquiry-based learning. Previously, he served as a Presidential Innovation Fellow for the White House, created several edtech learning platforms, written numerous books about educational technology, and he also serves as a board member for the EdCamp Foundation.

Robert Corbin is a Doctor of Philosophy and National Board Certified Science Teacher serving as Director of Global STEM Initiatives for Discovery Education. Corbin is also a North Carolina Science Leadership Fellow, Associate Professor at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and adjunct professor at Wingate University. Among his many awards and honors, he is an Arts and Science Council Lifetime Achievement Award recipient, Christa McAuliffe Fellow, and North Carolina Science Leadership Fellow.

Janet Corder and Joan Gore are educational consultants specializing in technology integration, BYOD implementations, mobile learning devices, and utilizing technology for student engagement and achievement. Janet has over 30 years of experience as a classroom teacher and instructional technology coordinator in public schools and has also been an adjunct education professor at a local university. Joan’s experience in the classroom and instructional technology department in a large school district gives her a broad viewpoint of the needs of students and teachers. As industry leaders, Joan and Janet have co-authored four books on technology integration and professional development and both have been awarded ISTE’s Making It Happen award for leaders in educational technology.

Hall Davidson has worked from think tanks in Turkey to classrooms in Tennessee. He has collaborated with thought leaders including teachers, superintendents, and departments of education. A former K-12 bilingual math teacher and college faculty member, he left the classroom to became part of an Emmy-winning team, creating math and technology integration programs. For forty years, he has been an educational innovator in important waves of change, first in broadcasting, then computers, and now digital learning.

She quickly realized the value of utilizing computers for music mixing and recording, soon changing her major to figure out what geeky thing she could do for the rest of her life. She now helps educators with their technology implementations and decisions as Fisher Technologies, Inc., a worldwide company specializing in technology, digital photography, editing, and workflow solutions for educators.

He’s been named ISTE’s Outstanding Leader of the Year and speaks at national and international conferences.
